6.2 Changing the presser foot holder, fitting special
accessory feet (to be purchased extra)
The ‹presser foot holder› is changed for it to be possible to attach special feet,
such as the walking foot, quilting foot, darning embroidery foot. This example
describes how to replace the standard foot with the walking foot.
Prerequisite:

The correct special accessory presser foot is ready for use.
Required:

A screwdriver
CAUTION Risk of injury posed by unexpected start-up
The foot controller is on the floor. This can lead to the machine starting up
unexpectedly if the foot controller is activated by, for example, a child, a
sufficiently heavy pet or accidental contact.

Always unplug the power plug before changing the presser foot.
Carry out the following steps:
1. Set the ‹presser foot lifter› to the upper position.
Then press the ‹Needle Up / Needle Down› button once.

Please note: It must be ensured that the thread take-up lever, covered by the
face plate, and the needle are in a specific position before threading and
changing any programs.
Set the Presser foot to the upper position, the thread tension is then open. Press
the Needle Up / Needle Down button once. The thread take-up lever and needle
move to the correct starting position automatically.

Criteria for optimal threading.
The lower thread has been pulled taut and carefully to the 7 o’clock and 9 o’clock
positions in the silver slot of the black hook race. When pulling it in, you will hear
a definite clicking at the 7 and 9 o’clock positions.
The lower thread tension is active. You have performed a tension test.
