5.2.4 System Rules
When configuring your Strata RX System, the following system
rules must be followed.
• An RXU can contain
either
an analog demodulator (FMR)
or
a digital demodulator and decoder (COFDM and
MPEG) -
but not both
.
In the Configurator, if
FMR
is selected in the RXU, also
selecting
COFDM
or
MPEG
will automatically deselect
FMR
. The reverse is also true - selecting
FMR
will
deselect
COFDM
or
MPEG
.
• If your configuration will include an RCU, any
demodulators
must
be installed in the RCU.
In the Configurator, if
RCU DCC
is selected at the same
time as any of the demodulator choices in the RXU (
FMR
,
COFDM
, or
MPEG
), the Tab corresponding to those
components will be disabled. That Tab must be re-
enabled before settings can be made.
To re-enable the Tab, deselect that component in the RXU
and select it in the RCU.
5.3 Creating a Configuration
There are three ways to create a configuration.
• Create a new configuration offline (not connected to
the RX).
See Section 5.3.1 on page 5-2
.
• Load in an existing configuration from a file and
modify it.
See Section 5.3.2 on page 5-4.
• Load in an existing configuration from the RX and
modify it.
See Section 5.3.3 on page 5-6.
Once the configuration is created, it should be saved to a file on
your PC. See Section 5.3.4 on page 5-8.
Each of these methods is explained in more detail in the
following sections.
5.3.1 Creating a New Configuration Offline
Creating a configuration offline allows you to set up a new
configuration without having to be connected to the RX. Follow
the steps below.
1. Start the RX Configurator.
Double-click the icon on your PC’s Desktop.
2. The Main Page appears (see Figure 5-1).
