Switch for a period of about 7 seconds, the display will default to
the Main Screen.
If you turn the Control Switch within those 7 seconds, you will
continue scrolling within that set of screens (Command or
Monitor).
Screen Lock
Some Monitor Screens display readings that you
may wish to monitor continuously, such as the Bit Error Ratio
(BER). To do this, scroll to the Monitor Screen you want to
observe, then push the Control Switch. This will lock the display
on that screen, but still allow updating of the displayed data.
When the display is locked, turning the Control Switch will have
no effect. Note also that the Error Monitor Screen cannot be
locked.
To unlock the display, simply push the Control Switch again. The
display will then switch to the Main Screen.
Unit vs.System Control
If you’re using a
standalone
RXU or
RCU, the menus and options that appear on the display will be
based on what hardware is installed in that individual unit.
When you
connect
your RCU and RXU, the two units
automatically detect what hardware is installed in which unit, and
automatically configure the menus and options to match the
installed hardware.
The connected RX System then allows you to control the entire
system from
either
front panel, regardless of what hardware is
installed in which unit.
3.2.6 DC on Coax Switch
The Strata RX allows you to power the RXU using DC supplied
by the RCU. This DC power is superimposed on the coax cable
that connects the RCU and RXU. This powering option is used
when the RCU and the RXU must be deployed in two separate
locations.
The Strata RX gives you two ways to control this DC power on
the coax cable:
• the “DC ON COAX” switch on the front panel of the RCU.
• the “DC Power” Command Screen.
Both
control methods must be enabled for this powering to be
operational.
DC ON COAX Switch
To set the front panel switch to allow DC
Power on the coax, simply turn the recessed screw until the slot
of the screw points to “ON”.
To disable DC Power on the coax, turn the screw until the slot
points to “OFF”. See Figure 3-2 on page 3-5.
