Setting the End-of-Line
Jumpers JP1, JP2 & JP3 for
RS-485 Protocol Operation
NOTE: DIP Switch 2 (S2) switch 4 must be
set to the ON position (RS-485) for
daisy chain operation to be
enabled and the End-of-Line
jumpers to work effectively. The
End-of-Line jumpers do not affect
RS-422 mode.
This section defines how to set the End-of-
Line Jumpers JP1, JP2 and JP3. The
jumper sockets are located on the
underside of the Communications/Power
Supply PC Board as shown in Figure 37.
Refer to the section of this manual
Disassembling the Surveyor99 for details
on how to access the jumper sockets.
The 3 jumpers are included with each Surveyor99 but NOT INSTALLED at the factory. There are 2 possible
configurations as follows:
JUMPERS INSTALLED:
For a single system Camera Dome or the last in line of a daisy chain using RS-485
protocol only.
JUMPERS UNINSTALLED:
For all Camera Domes in a daisy chain except the last in line using RS-485
protocol only.
1. Disassemble the Surveyor99 to access the jumper sockets.
2. Install all 3 jumpers by pushing them over the 2 pins for each socket on a Surveyor99 which is the only
unit in a daisy chain or the last in line of a daisy chain.
3. Reassemble the Surveyor99 and proceed to the Operation section of this Manual for functional testing.
