XX002 Rev 799 Surveyor99 Dome System
8. Make all connections to Terminal Blocks TB1 and TB3 with reference to Table 1. On TB3, the COMMAND
IN + (CI+) and COMMAND IN - (CI-) connections must be used for Simplex operation. For Half Duplex
operation, the additional signals RESPONSE OUT + (RO+) and RESPONSE OUT - (RO-) must also be
used.
WARNING: If Vicoax mode is being used, DO NOT wire TB3 or J3 for control, as this will cause the
Camera Dome Program to lock up upon power-up.
9. Reinstall the Terminal Blocks TB1 and TB3 into the Communication Power Supply Board at the proper
block frames.
10. Install the video BNC cable connector to the Communication/Power Supply Board’s mating BNC
Connector.
11. Plug in all RJ-45 cable connectors to their corresponding mating connectors J1 and J3.
WARNING: Failure to insert the RJ-45 Connectors into the correct mating connectors can cause damage
to the Communication Power Supply Board upon power-up.
WARNING: Wire the control cable to TB3 OR J3, not both, to avoid communication errors.
12. Insert the conduit pipe into the Conduit Fitting and tighten the screw.
13. Replace the Enclosure’s Top Cover by properly seating it and tightening the 3 screws.
For an Indoor or Outdoor Pendant Model Installation
The Pendant type installation wiring requires careful measurement and termination of all cables. The cable
must be just long enough to permit the Safety Cord to be the sole support of the Surveyor99 when removed
from the Housing and just short enough to prevent improper bunching of the cables when installing the
Surveyor99 into the Housing. Refer to Figure 29 for Indoor or Outdoor Pendant Model mount cable installation
details.
1. With the Surveyor99 hanging from the Housing, route each cable from the inside top of the Housing down
to the Cable Clamp on the Enclosure and comfortably over to its appropriate Communications/Power
Supply Board connector. Leave approximately 1 inch (25 mm) extra for termination and cut each cable.
The approximate total length of these cables should be 13 to 16 inches (330 to 406 mm).
2. Remove Terminal Blocks TB1 and/or TB3. The control signals exist in both TB3 and J3 and the Relay
signals exist only in J3. Therefore, remove TB3 only if the control signals will be terminated here.
3. Strip approximately 2 inches (51 mm) of insulation off of any twisted-pair wire sets or cables used for
power, control, alarms and relays. Then strip approximately 0.25 inches (6 mm) of insulation off of each
wire.
4. Terminate the video (coaxial) cable with a BNC type male connector. Terminate the 8-conductor alarm
cable with an RJ-45 male connector, if used.
5. Make all connections to Terminal Blocks TB1 and TB3 with reference to Table 1. On TB3, the COMMAND
IN + (CI+) and COMMAND IN - (CI-) connections must be used for Simplex operation. For Half Duplex
operation, the additional signals RESPONSE OUT + (RO+) and RESPONSE OUT - (RO-) must also be
used.
