Optional Independent Support
If it is necessary to provide independent support for the Surveyor99, other than the ceiling material, order the
optional In-Ceiling Mount Model Kit. It consists of a set of Mounting Rails, a folding Ring and the necessary
hardware as shown in Figure 19. The Optional In-Ceiling Mount Model Kit includes:

Mounting Ring Assembly 1

Nut, 8-32, keps type 4
Nail, 16 gauge, 1-1/4-inch long 4
1. Cut a 7-3/8-inch (187 mm) diameter
hole and unfold the Mounting Ring
Assembly.
2. Lay it over the ceiling hole from the
top. Press the Mounting Ring
Assembly down so the tabs are firmly
seated into the material’s cross
section.
3. Press the provided Nails through the
Tab holes and into the ceiling material.
This holds the Mounting Ring
Assembly tight to the material.
4. Lay the Mounting Rails onto the
Mounting Ring Assembly Threaded
Stud Inserts and attach them to the
Mounting Ring Assembly using the
provided Nuts. The Mounting Rails
were designed to fit in the grid work of
a standard dropped ceiling.
5. Replace the Ceiling Tile into the ceiling
grid.
6. Finally, complete the installation as
described in the procedure of the
previous sub-sections. In this
installation, the Ceiling Clips will rest
on the Mounting Ring Assembly.
