XX002 Rev 799 Surveyor99 Dome System

INDOOR PENDANT MODEL

The Indoor Pendant Model mounts on a Vicon Mount or a 1.0-inch vertical Pipe. The pipe is a standard 1.0-
inch NPT type and must be oriented vertically so the Surveyor99 can effectively hang from the pipe.

The Mount is installed with all the cables run through it and the 1.0-inch NPT Pipe is prepared for Surveyor99
installation. The cables are routed through the Housing and the Housing is screwed tightly to the pipe. Then
the Surveyor99 is hung from the Housing Safety Cord while it is wired and configured. The Surveyor99 is then
carefully snapped into the Housing. The Surveyor99 is supported by the Mount. The Indoor Lower Dome is
then anchored with its Safety Cord and snapped on. Refer to Figure 20. Detailed installation instructions will
follow.

The Accessory Kit containing the RJ-45 to RJ-45 8 foot (2.4 m) cable and RJ-45 Termination Box can be used
for wiring the 4 alarms or the relay in this installation. Since the supplied cable is limited to 8 feet (2.4 m), the
Termination Box must be mounted within the immediate area of the Surveyor99. The Mount must provide a
support of suitable strength for the Housing and the Surveyor99 weight of 6.0 lb (2.7 kg).

1.  Install the Mount in accordance with the

Installation Manual included with the Mount or
prepare the vertical 1.0-inch NPT Pipe.

2.  Feed all necessary cables through the back

of the Mount and out the end of the 1.0-inch
NPT Pipe, 16-inches (406 mm) in length.

3.  Lift the Housing up to the Mount or Pipe and

feed the cables through its top opening.

4.  Place the Housing onto the 1.0-inch pipe and

screw clockwise, looking up at the Housing.
When it becomes snug, turn it an additional
quarter-turn.

5.  Verify that each cable drops from the pipe

opening at least 16-inches (406 mm) in
length.

6.  Lift the Surveyor99 up to the Housing and

attach the Housing’s Safety Cord to the
Surveyor99’s Latch. Allow the Surveyor99 to
hang from the Housing.

7.  Route each cable from the inside top of the

Housing down to the Cable Clamp on the Enclosure and then comfortably over to its mating connector on
the Communications/Power Supply Board. Add 1-inch (25 mm) of extra length to each cable for
termination and cut them. The approximate length of each cable should be 13 - 16-inches (330 - 406 mm).

8.  Terminate all the cables as follows:

a)  Remove Terminal Blocks TB1 and/or TB3. Since the control signals exist in both TB3 and J3, do not

remove TB3 if J3 will be used for control signal wiring.
