3.1 Barge In
Description
Barge in permits authorized extensions to intrude into other existing outside or intercom calls.
When you intrude on an existing call, a Conference is established with you (the supervisor) and
the parties on the existing call.
Barge-in from your phone is assigned for one of three operating modes:
(0) – Barge in is disabled
(1) – Barge in Monitor mode, the intruding station can listen only
(2) – Barge in Speech mode, the intruding station hears the conversation and may join
and may join the conversation to speak to the other parties.
Operation
iPECS IP & LDP Phones w/3-soft buttons
To Barge-in in the Monitor mode
1. Call the busy station and receive busy tone.
2. Press the
[MONITOR]
soft button. You will need to use the right Navigation button to
display the Monitor selection
3. Warning tone is sent to the connected parties and you are connected to the call in a “listen-
only”, monitor mode.
To Barge-in in the Speech mode
1. If Barge-in type 2 is assigned, press the
[JOIN]
soft button to join the conversation. The
parties receive intrusion tone and you connect to the call.
2. Caller can join the conversation. The others hear “Intrusion Tone”.
3. To terminate the call and return the all parties to idle, press the
[DROP]
soft button.
To exit Barge-in
1. Hang-up the phone.
Conditions
1. This feature is only supported for iPECS IP and LDP Phone models with 3 soft buttons.
2. This feature is only available for active calls; you cannot barge in on a ringing or held
call.
3. The Barge-In supervisor phone display will indicate the Id of the connected parties
prior to the Barge-in operation.
