2.86.2 Inter Zone Connection Limit
Description
To maintain voice quality, it may be necessary to limit the number of connected inter-Zone calls
for a Zone so the available bandwidth is used effectively. Two parameters define the inter-Zone
connection limits; the Zone maximum inter-zone connections and the maximum inter zone
connections between Zones. As a default, no limit other than the system capacity is applied to the
Inter Zone Connections.
Operation
Operation of this feature is automatic when configured.
Conditions
1. If maximum Inter-Zone call limit is set to 0, calls for the Zone are not limited.
1. When a Zone reaches the defined maximum Inter-Zone calls, you will receive error
tone and the display “INTER CONN LIMIT OVER” when attempting an outside call.
2. An Inter-Zone call is determined when the call connection is made. If an incoming call
is answered that places the Zone over the limit, the call is dropped and you receive
error tone.
3. Emergency calls are counted as an outgoing outside call however, the Emergency call
is always allowed.
4. If Two-way recording is active and the recording connection places the Zone over the
limit, the call is not recorded.
