System Disc Packer (RDA 400 S)

Factory setting

Normally, the System Disc Packer pre-implement has been correctly set at the factory.

Similar to the lifting system, the pre-implement is connected to a master and slave system. Before
adjusting the pre-implement, bleed and reset its hydraulic system similar to the corresponding pro-
cedure for the lifting system. See

”2.8 Adjusting sowing depth” on page 20

. Bleed the system with

the drill set to the work position and with the System Discs and Packer wheels completely raised.
This will ensure the hydraulic rams are pressed out to their end positions.

Then verify the basic adjustment of the pre-implement while hitched to the tractor and the drill
folded out, resting on the seed coulters on level ground. If necessary, adjust the piston rods (A) to
achieve the same height setting of all discs and packer wheels. Loosen the lock nut (B) while turn-
ing the piston rod and the hydraulic ram in place. The piston rods can be adjusted to a maximum
extension of the thread (C) by 20 mm.

Fine adjustment is then performed in the field by adjusting the piston rods (A) until all sections
work at the same depth.

Adjust the angle of the front disc row in relation to that of the rear row using the hole series in the
parallel iron bar (D).

NOTE!

Always make sure that the parallel iron bars do not interfere with the

frame once adjustment is completed.
