Water draining of fuel filter
When water gathers in the pre-fuel
f i l t e r, a w a r n i n g m e s s a g e a n d
comments is displayed to warn the
driver.
Stop the vehicle and drain the pre-
f u e l f i l t e r. I f t h e w a r n i n g s y m b o l
frequently recommends that the pre-
fuel filter should be drained, then
t h e r e i s a p r o b l e m w i t h t h e f u e l
quality. Drain the fuel tank and refill
with fuel of the correct quality.
Water draining procedure
1 Stop the vehicle.
2. Apply the parking brake.
3. Turn OFF the engine.
4. Remove the cover and noise
absorbing materials attached on
the left side rail (if equipped).
5. Place a container under the pro-
file filter.
6. Turn the ignition key clockwise to
the ACC position.
7. Select drain option from menu in
instrument cluster display. The
draining will continue for maxi-
mum 15 seconds or till the water
is drained completely, which ever
happens first.
CAUTION
Do not continue to drive the
vehicle with the filter containing
water warning message. Stop
t h e v e h i c l e a n d r e c t i f y i t
immediately.
WARNING
A l w a y s u s e a c o n t a i n e r t o
collect fuel for safety and floor
cleanliness.
I f f u e l s p i l l s o v e r a n y
components of the engine, make
s u r e t h a t i t i s c l e a n e d
immediately and completely.
NOTE
If the engine is started before
d r a i n i n g i s c o m p l e t e , t h e
process is interrupted.
