5 Check for short in harness or engine ECU.

PREPARATION:

(a) Remove the glove compartment

(See page FI -- 6

(b)

Disconnect the E5 connector of engine ECU.

HINT:
Intake air temp. sensor connector is disconnected.
(c)

Turn ignition switch ON.

CHE CK:

Read temp. value on the OBD II scan tool or
hand--held tester.

OK:

Te mp. value : -- 4 0

C (-- 40

Repair or replace harness or connector.

Check and replace engine ECU

(See pa ge IN -- 21).
