9) Disassembly of Propeller Shaft

1. Pull out propeller shaft ass'y

2. Remove reverse (C) gear by using screw drivers

CAUTION
Heat propeller shaft housing by putting it in
the hot water of approximately 60 - 70˚C
(140 - 158˚F), and remove bearing

CAUTION
Be careful not to burn.

Heating of propshaft housing can also be made
by using a heat gun or heat lamp.
4. Use a press to remove oil seal

and needle bearing

at
the same time.
Before removing, check bearing for play or
deflection. Replace if necessary.
