hazards and risks of equipment damage. Refer to the following types of

Safety and Equipment Damage Alert Descriptions
Alert
Description
DANGER
A hazard is present that will result in death or serious
personal injury if the warning is ignored.
WARNING
A hazard is present or an unsafe practice can result in
serious personal injury if the warning is ignored.
CAUTION
The hazard or unsafe practice could result in minor to
moderate personal injury if the warning is ignored.
Equipment Damage
The hazard or unsafe practice could result in property
damage if the warning is ignored.

Description
DANGER
Misusing or mishandling the battery pack can lead to
fluid leakage, heat generation, fire or an explosion
.

WARNING
The battery pack (PN: 56-010897-2300) is designed with
specific individual battery cells. These battery cells are
not user replaceable. The battery packs may be replaced
only by MSHA certified individuals pursuant to 30 CFR
Parts 70, 71 & 90. All charging of these battery packs
shall take place while installed in the PDM3700 and in
fresh air in Battery Charging stations as defined in 30
CFR 75.340 or fresh air above ground.

WARNING
Only MSHA certified individuals may perform
maintenance, calibration and sampling pursuant to 30
CFR Parts 70, 71 & 90. This includes changing the battery
packs, sample pump, cleaning the sample inlet, and other
maintenance items as described in the operators manual.

WARNING
Do not operate the PDM3700 if its case is damaged or
otherwise compromised.
