4. Attach the hipSTAR FLEX to a harness according to EN 358 by using both cara-
biners of the hipSTAR FLEX and fastening them to the two attachment rings of the
waist harness.
5. Where the harness has a pair of forward attachment points certified for sus-
pension (e.g. EN 813), hipSTAR FLEX may be attached using both carabiners (see
picture 3, page 7).
6.The hipSTAR FLEX is adjusted to correct length with the help of the friction hitch
(5 coil Distel) attached to the pulley. hipSTAR FLEX 12,7mm is delivered with a Val-
dotain Tresse (4+3). The product may also be used with a Distel knot or a michoa-
can. All three configurations were type-examined. For correct knotting consult the
chapter “mounting of replacement parts”.
7. Free movement shall be reduced to 0.6 m maximum.
8. The lanyard must always be used without slack and as short as possible. Leaving
the lanyard too long increases the possibility of a severe and potentially higher fall.
During use constantly check anchor points and adjustable parts adjustment devices.
When used according to EN358 or double-stranded according to EN795B the OD
Loop with thimble is not in use and without any function. You may hook it into the
carabiner as shown in figure 4 and 5 on page

so that it not obstructive during
