Air Bleeding Procedure

2. Winch brake
[NOTICE]
When winding or unwinding the winch, pay attention
to the hook position.
Conditions
Engine speed : Idling
PTO : ON
Bleed the main and aux. winch brakes following the
procedure below.
Operate the lever by inching operation within the
range that the drum can rotate.
Pay attention to prevent the working pressure from
exceeding the value described below.
2.5 MPa (25.5 kgf/cm²) (360 psi) (during hoisting
up)
4.5 MPa (46 kgf/cm²) (650 psi) (during hoisting
down)
While operating the lever, loosen the air-bleed plug.
When the flowing oil contains no more bubbles,
tighten the plug while the oil is flowing out.
[NOTICE]
If a winch brake is bled while the winch drums
rotates fast, the winch brake may be damaged.
When bleeding a winch brake, reduce the winch
speed as far as the drum can rotate.
Once you start bleeding a winch brake, you need
not move the winch lever to and fro. Keep the lever
to the position so that the drum rotates at the lowest
speed as possible.
3. Service brake
[NOTICE]
The vehicle has two boosters; one for the front
wheel brakes and the other for the rear wheel
brakes.
Take care of spattering the brake fluid and the fluid
level in the fluid reservoir while bleeding.
1. With the sufficient compressed air in the air
reservoir, depress the brake pedal and loosen the
air-bleed plug on the booster to bleed the circuit.
2. Then tighten the air-bleed plug before releasing
the brake pedal.
3. Repeat the above steps until the flowing brake
fluid contains no air bubbles. After the air bubbles
go out, tighten the air-bleed plug while letting the
fluid flow out.
4. Bleed the wheel cylinders in the calipers of the
axles in the steps same as above.
[NOTICE]
The vehicle has four air-bleed plugs of wheel
cylinder ; two for the front wheel brakes and two for
the rear wheel brakes.
