1) Front passengers

If the vehicle is driven at a speed no higher

than approximately 24 km/h (15 mph) with
the driver’s seatbelt and/or passenger’s
seatbelt not fastened, the warning light(s)
corresponding to the unfastened seat-
belt(s) will come on and stays on continu-
ously.

If the vehicle subsequently reaches a
speed of approximately 24 km/h (15 mph)
with the driver’s seatbelt and/or passen-
ger’s seatbelt not fastened, the warning
light(s) will start a repeated cycle consist-
ing of five seconds of flashing followed by
a one-second pause. At the same time, a
buzzer will start a repeated cycle consist-
ing of five seconds of sounding followed
by a one-second pause. If either of the un-
fastened seatbelts is fastened at this time,
the warning light corresponding to that
seatbelt will immediately go off but the
buzzer will continue operating unless the
remaining seatbelt is fastened. This condi-
tion (continued operation of the buzzer un-
less the remaining seatbelt is fastened)
will continue for approximately 108 sec-
onds.

NOTE

If the driver’s and passenger’s seat-
belts are not fastened simultaneously
(if one seatbelt is fastened significantly
earlier or later than the other), the buzz-
er may sound longer (10 seconds max-

imum).

If the driver’s seatbelt and/or the passen-
ger’s seatbelt is still not fastened when the
108-second period has elapsed, the warn-
ing light(s) will stop flashing and the buzz-
er will stop sounding. The warning light(s),
however, will stay on continuously unless
the corresponding seatbelt(s) is fastened.

T

Latin America models

Your vehicle is equipped with a seatbelt
warning device at the driver’s seat, as re-
quired by current safety standards.
This device causes the seatbelt warning
light on the instrument panel to light up
when the ignition switch is turned to “ON”
to remind the driver to wear the seatbelt.

If the vehicle is driven at a speed no higher
than approximately 24 km/h (15 mph) with
the driver’s seatbelt not fastened, the
warning light will come on and stays on
continuously.

If the vehicle subsequently reaches a
speed of approximately 24 km/h (15 mph)
with the driver’s seatbelt not fastened, the
warning light will start a repeated cycle
consisting of five seconds of flashing fol-
lowed by a one-second pause. If the seat-
belt is fastened at this time, the warning
light will immediately go off. This condition
will continue for approximately 108 sec-
