5. Performing a rotation test: the test is performed on the motor

connector with 4 cables. Remove the motor cover. Discon-

nect the pump from the drive. Check the motor function by

fitting a bridge to pins 1 and 2. Turn the motor fan at about 2

revs per second. You should feel some resistance against the

movements. If you cannot feel any resistance, you will need to

replace the motor. Repeat the test for pin combinations 1 + 3

and 2 + 3. Pin 4 (the green wire) is not used for this test. If all

rotation tests are positive, then proceed with step 6.

6. Check for current: perform the test on the large motor connector

with 4 cables: there must not be any current between pin 4 (earth

wire) and the other three cables. If this test fails, replace the motor.

7. Check the thermostat: disconnect the thermostat wires (yellow)

at the connector. Set your multimeter to ohms: the resistance

should be 3.9 kohms.

must remedy the

cause of overhe-

ating. Set up the

spraying device at

a cooler location

with good venti-

lation. Make sure

spraying device

still fails to start

up, follow step 1.

NOTE:

The motor must cool down for this test.

6. Check the overheating protection connector (yellow wires) on

the controller card.

7. Disconnect the overheating protection connector from the

socket on the controller card. Make sure the contacts are clean

and undamaged. Measure the overheating protection resi-

stance. If the measured value is not normal, replace the motor.

Check the thermostat:

disconnect the thermostat wires (yel-

low) at the connector. Set your multimeter to ohms: the resi-

stance should be 3.9 kohms.

8. Reconnect the overheating protection connector to the socket

on the controller card. Reconnect the power cable; switch the

spray device ON, and turn the pressure regulator knob clock-

wise half a turn. Replace the controller card if the spray gun

still does not start up.

1. Switch the spraying device OFF and unplug the power cable

from the device.

to the electronics.
