16 STRUCTURE FIXINGS AND SUPPORTS
The following methods of fixing are in addition to the base fixings details under Section 3.5.
Before making the following fixings, it should be ensured that the lift structure is square. The
guide & threshold fixings have a push/pull facility and when combined can be used to remove
small amounts of structural twist.
16.1 Guide Fixings
The structure is to be tied back on the guide side at the upper landing level.
The fixing method shown below is for a chemical anchor into a solid concrete aperture. Mesh
sleeves are provided to cater for fixing into hollow block.
In the event the lift is to be fixed within a timber aperture the M10 studding should be
substituted for a 10mm dowel screw.
Note:
For lifts with an upper level gate, this fixing is transferred to a position above the
landing threshold, see builders work drawing for fixing position and type.
