Appendix A – Trouble Shooting
Problem
Possible fault
Possible solution
Lift will not ascend
•
Circuit breaker tripped
•
Isolation keyswitch
turned off
•
Door not locked
•
Carriage safety edge
operated/sticking.
Platform safety edge
operated/sticking.
Mains switch turned
off. Motor overload
tripped in pump unit.
Platform overloaded
(indicator on carriage).
Shut off valve closed.
Pump running but will
not raise lift

Reset. Turn on (3
switches)
•
Ensure door is closed
and locks fully
engaged. Remove
obstruction
•
Remove obstruction
•
Turn on. Reset
•
Remove excess load
•
Open valve. Pressure
relief valve open.
Check platform load.
Adjust valve if
required. Down
solenoid valve stuck
open - dirt in the
system
Lift will not descend

Door open

Ultimate limit operated

Rupture valve (base of

Close door. Lower lift
by manual operation
and reset switch.
