GLAZING
When installing glass it is necessary to work off the platform and requires 2 installers.
AT ALL TIMES A MINIMUM DISTANCE OF 950MM SHOULD BE MAINTAINED FROM
THE PLATFORM BASE TO THE TOP OF THE LOWEST PANEL.
With the platform at ground level, the lower glass panels can be fitted into the structure up to
the first level of horizontal members (glass fitting technique described later), this can be
achieved without the use of the glass installation switch (GIS).
Before the platform can be moved, place GIS base plate on platform ensuring folded edge
sits between the safety edge and platform.
Note: the wheel on the switch should run on the
glazed panels and
NOT
the corner upright, ideal placement should be the corner of the
platform so not to interfere with panel fitment (see fig.1)
For electrical connection please see below:
•
2 stop
- on main board remove male 2 way plug from PL12 and plug into the female 2
way plug on the GIS, plug the male 2 way plug on the GIS into PL12.
Note: leave
remaining 4 way plugs loose,
do not
plug into each other.
•
Multistop
- on main board remove male 4 way plug from PL17 and plug into the
female 4 way plug on the GIS, plug the male 4 way plug on the GIS into PL17.
Note:
leave remaining 2 way plugs loose,
do not
plug into each other.
With the trailing arm on the GIS in the down position (activated) the lift can now be run. The
installer can either run the lift until the wheel ‘flicks’ off the last panel (stopping the lift
automatically), or alternatively stop the lift just before the end of the last panel is reached
(see fig. 4). The first option will require the arm being reset after the glazed panel has been
fitted.
