Change or Remove Folder Sharing
When you create a folder it is automatically configured as a shared folder
(see
Creating Folders and Configuring Sharing on page 97
) and added to
the list of shares for the volume.
If you want to change how the folder is shared or if you do not want the
folder to be shared at all (that is, you do not want users who accessing the
nTier500 over a network connection to have access to the folder), you can
edit the share configuration for the folder.
The BlueScale web interface provides two different methods for changing
how a folder is shared.

Use the following steps to change the configuration of a shared folder.
Note:
You can also change the configuration of a shared folder using
the Folders panel as described in the next section. If a folder is
not currently shared, you can only modify its sharing
configuration through the Folders panel.
1.
Log into the BlueScale web interface (see
Accessing the BlueScale Web
Interface on page 60
).
2.
Select
Configuration > NAS
. The NAS page displays (see
Figure 52 on
page 99
).
3.
Expand the
Shares
panel, if it is not already expanded.
Important
You cannot delete folders through the BlueScale web interface. This is to prevent
you from accidentally deleting the contents of the folder. If you need to delete a
folder and the data that it contains, you must do so through the Windows operating
system (see
Accessing the Windows Operating System on page 67
).
