Installation Checklist of the 4
th
Axis
Use this checklist to assure a complete install and setup of the 4
th
axis on the TMC.
Note
- Steps included assume the installation was not completed at the factory.
Reference drawing 31538 at the rear of the manual for an illustration of the location of all items, how the
parts are assembled, and the part numbers used.

Axis Installation Checklist
1.
Turn off power to the machine when doing the electrical wiring in the electrical cabinet.
2.
Open wiring access panels and remove knockout.
3.
Install the 4th Axis Delta Servo drive.
4.
Refer to drawing 31538 for Cable Routing Diagram. Use charts to connect wires.
5.
Replace covers as needed when all the wires have been added.
6.
Replace 4th Axis Jumper with the Delta Drive cable.
7.
Mount and align 4
th
axis to the table.
8.
Hook up the cables that come with the 4th axis to the top of the TMC.
9.
Turn power on to configure the 4
th
Axis.
10.
Use service code 318 to turn on the 4th axis option software.
11.
Confirm if the 4th Axis is enabled in Status menu.
12.
Reboot machine.
13.
Home the machine, and verify that the 4
th
Axis homes correctly.
14.
Conduct the Burn-in Test Program.
15.
Perform or check that service code 502 has been set correctly.
16.
Perform or check that service code 506 has been set correctly.
17.
Perform or check that the backlash is set correctly using service code 128.
