Replace all damaged parts if necessary (visual inspection) with

new original parts.
After the control unit and other damaged parts have been re‐

placed the control unit must be encoded again.
Accident without deployment of airbag
♦ If the airbag control indicator (K 75) is displaying no errors and

no airbag system parts are damaged, it is not necessary to

replace airbag components. Seat belts in particular must be

examined.

Registering parts of the airbag system
If a part of the airbag system is to be replaced using original parts

the self-adhesive labels with the number should be removed,

placed on the registration card part number 000 010 100 A and

sent in for registration to the customer service network (domestic)

or the importer (in the case of other countries):
♦ Central control unit for the airbag system.
♦ Airbag unit on the driver's side.
♦ Airbag unit on the front passenger's side.
♦ Side air bag unit, driver's side, with seat covering.
♦ Side air bag unit, front passenger's side, with seat covering.
♦ Acceleration sensor for side impact on the driver's side.
♦ Acceleration sensor for side impact on the front passenger's

side.

♦ Pressure sensor for side impact on the driver's side.
♦ Pressure sensor for side impact on the front passenger's side.
♦ Acceleration sensor for front collision at the lock carrier in the

engine compartment.

♦ The head airbag unit on the driver's side.
♦ The head airbag unit on the front passenger's side.
♦ Moulded headliner for head airbag.
