7.4 Calibration
Installation Instructions Facescan
1. Start the GALILEOS calibration software (see GALILEOS
Installations Instructions Order No. 6125574 (Worldwide) / 6125608
(U.S.)).
2. Only for SIDEXIS 4: Re-start SIDEXIS 4.
3. Only for SIDEXIS 4: Wait until SIDEXIS 4 has started and is
responsive.
4. Align the 3D calibration phantom with a spirit level.
5. Establish receptivity.
In the event of receptivity, the Facescan LEDs will switch on
automatically.
In the event of an error: Not all Facescan LEDs light up.
-> Check the configuration.
6. Perform the geometric calibration.
7. Check that the following error message does not appear in the dialog
window:
"Facescan: Calibration failed! Please ..."
.
When the
"Facescan: Calibration failed! Please ..."
error
message is displayed, the calibration has failed. The calibration
process must be repeated.
8. In the event of a successful calibration (i.e. with no error message):
Click on the
"Save values"
button.
NOTICE
Operation of converted non-"FaceScan ready" units
Converted non-"FaceScan ready" units require the heptagonal 3D
calibration phantom that comes delivered with it. This replaces the
existing geometry phantom.
With "FaceScan ready" units, this 3D calibration phantom comes as part
of the package.
For calibrating use the heptagonal 3D calibration phantom that also
comes in the package.
NOTICE
Pay attention to the room lighting.
The calibration requires a certain background brightness to be able to
be conducted properly (>150 lux, measured at the point of the
calibration phantom).
If the brightness is insufficient, the calibration can fail (error message:
"Facescan: Calibration failed! Please ..."
).
