Saving Data
To prevent the loss of data resulting from your work on the MOBIC, it is advisable
to save data such as program files, word files and the registry regularly.
There are various ways in which you can save data:
S
On your host computer using ActiveSync via a serial connection
S
On the flash of the MOBIC
S
On a PCMCIA flash card
S
The registry to the flash using the MOBIC Configurator

ActiveSync
How to set up an ActiveSync connection and work with it is described in detail in
Section 6.2.
You have the following options:
S
Saving individual files
S
Making a Backup/Restore of your complete system with ActiveSync. In this
case, a complete copy is created on your host computer and is downloaded
again to the MOBIC with Restore. This function also saves the registry.
S
Running an automatic data synchronization whenever an ActiveSync
connection is established (see Section 6.2 Synchronizing Data)
Internal Disk
You use the flash available in the MOBIC in the same way as you would use a
hard disk drive on your host PC.
1. Open the Windows Explorer (Start - > Programs - > Windows Explorer)
2. Click on the file you want to save and then select the ”Copy” command in the
“Edit” menu.
3. Now double - click Internal Disk and select the ”Paste” command in the ”Edit”
menu.
The file is then saved on the Internal Disk (in other words in the flash).
