Extending/changing the site
An FPS configuration can be extended or even changed.
•
The control elements in the navigation tree allow you to extend the measurement site
to include additional sensor components or configure the offset mounting of a sensor.
•
An additional road, for example, can be added to the measurement site via the
configuration wizard.
•
If a site cannot be extended using the configuration wizard functions, system
parameters can be loaded by means of an XML configuration file.
6.14.1
Adding system components
In this example, a site configuration is extended to include two additional sensor
components for two-lane monitoring. The sensor components are added to the site
configuration via the TEMS Manager navigation area.
1. Open the site in editing mode and activate expert mode.
The site has been configured to monitor two lanes. The LMS Width has been mounted
centrally between two lanes so that it can capture the profile of the vehicles in both of
them. Vehicle tracking takes place via two LMS Length laser scanners mounted above
each lane.
The numbering of the 2D LiDAR sensors in TEMS Manager is always from left to right.
The LMS Width mounted between the lanes is therefore number 2, while the LMS
Length mounted on the right in the direction of travel is number 1.
