MAINTENANCE
Cleaning & Protection
Regular periodic maintenance on your machine will
ensure its optimum performance. Make a habit of
inspecting your machine each time you use it.
Daily Maintenance:
•
Check for loose mounting bolts.
•
Check for damaged spindle or spindle parts.
•
Check for worn or damaged switch or cords.
•
Remove rust or resin from the shaper table, and
apply anti-rust protection.
•
Check for any other condition that could hamper the
safe operation of this machine.
Weekly Maintenance:
•
Check for V-belt tension, damage, or wear.
•
Clean/vacuum dust buildup from inside cabinet and
off motor.
•
Tighten grease cap on the quill support; add grease
if necessary.
Monthly Maintenance:
•
Lubricate worm gears, elevation slide, and quill.
General
MAKE SURE that your machine is discon-
nect from power during all maintenance
procedures! If this warning is ignored,
serious personal injury may occur.
Vacuum excess wood chips and sawdust from the shaper,
and wipe off the remaining dust with a dry cloth after
every use. If any resin has built up, use a resin dissolving
cleaner to remove it.
Wood debris that stays on the bare cast iron table can
cause rust. Do not use water or water-based products on
the unpainted cast iron surfaces. Keep the table rust-free
with regular applications of anti-rust lubricants.
