HP Heavy-Duty Industrial Tilting Spindle Shaper
Rewiring to 440V
Rewiring your shaper to 440V requires three steps: 1)
change the contactor, 2) change the overload relay, and
3) rewire the motor.
Purchase the Model W1807 440V Conversion Kit (Part
Number X1807131) from your authorized Shop Fox dealer.
This kit contains the necessary components for rewiring
your machine to 440V.
The rewiring procedure must be done by a qualified
electrician before the shaper is connected to the power
source. Refer to
Wiring Diagrams
starting on
Page 46
for
additional details.
To rewire the Model W1807 for 440V operation, do
these steps:
1.
DISCONNECT THE SHAPER FROM POWER!
2.
Open the electrical box on the right side of the
shaper, and locate the contactor and overload relay
(see
Figure 2
).
3.
Replace the contactor with the 440V contactor.
4.
Replace the overload relay with the 440V overload
relay.
5. Set the amperage dial on the 440V overload relay to
11.
6.
Open the front motor access panel, remove the
motor wiring cover, and rewire the motor for 440V
as shown on the diagram inside the motor junction
box.
