Service

11.7.2 Replacing the drive unit

1. Observe the safety instructions!

2. Disassemble the MOVIGEAR

drive unit. Observe the notes in the "Mechanical

Installation" chapter.

3. Compare the data on the nameplate of the previous MOVIGEAR

drive unit with the

data on the nameplate of the new MOVIGEAR

drive unit..

4. Assemble the MOVIGEAR

drive unit. Observe the "Mechanical Installation"

chapter.

5. Perform the installation according to the "Electrical Installation" chapter.

6. When you replace the drive unit including the MOVIGEAR

electronics cover, you

additionally have to take measures as described in the "Replacing the electronics
cover" chapter.

7. Place the MOVIGEAR

electronics cover onto the connection box and screw it on.

8. Supply MOVIGEAR

with voltage.

9. Parameters that can be changed are saved in the MOVIGEAR

drive unit (see

"Parameters" chapter). This means you have to change these parameters again
when replacing the drive unit.

10.Check the new MOVIGEAR

drive unit for proper function.

11.8 SEW-EURODRIVE Service

11.8.1 Send in unit for repair

If a fault cannot be rectified, please contact SEW-EURODRIVE electronics service (see
"Address List").

When contacting SEW electronics service, always quote the digits on the status label so
that our service personnel can assist you more effectively.

Provide the following information when sending the unit in for repair:

• Serial number (see nameplate)

• Type designation

• Unit type

• Short description of the application (application, control type, etc.)

• Nature of the fault

• Accompanying circumstances

• Your own presumptions as to what has happened

• Any unusual events preceding the problem, etc.

NOTICE

Always replace the MOVIGEAR

drive unit by a MOVIGEAR

drive unit with the same

properties.
