The engine is removed upwards using the lifting tackle -
2024A- .
♦
After removing of coolant or fuel lines, these must be sealed
using the engine sealing cap set - VAS 6122- to prevent dirt
from entering or coolant or fuel from running out.
♦
The cable clamps must be installed in their same place again.
♦
All cable ties which were opened or cut when the engine was
removed must be replaced with new cable ties in the same
positions when engine is installed.
CAUTION
The cooling system is under pressure when the engine is hot.
Hot steam/hot coolant can escape - risk of scalding.
Risk of scalding to skin and body parts.
– Wear protection gloves.
– Use safety goggles.
– Reduce pressure by covering the cap of the coolant expan‐
sion tank with cloths and opening it carefully.
– Open filler cap -arrow- on coolant expansion tank.
