plus

-IM

Attaching SBE 39plus-IM to Mooring Cable

For an SBE 39

plus

-IM with an embedded (internal) thermistor, there is a

depression

in the end cap around the thermistor.

Do not deploy the

39plus-IM with the end cap up

, as sediment and/or non-flushing water can

get trapped in this space, affecting the response of the thermistor.

To achieve maximum battery pack endurance, recommended deployment
orientation for all SBE 39

plus

-IM is thermistor end down or horizontal. See

Deployment Orientation

Section 2: Description of SBE 39plus-IM

SBE 39plus-IM without Optional Fairing / Net Fender

Attach the mounting brackets to the insulated mooring cable:
A.

Open each mounting bracket by unthreading the two large titanium
hex bolts.

Place the insulated mooring cable inside the brackets’ grooves.

Reinstall each bracket half with the hex bolts.

Verify that the two halves of the modem coupling toroid have come
together evenly, and that the mounting clamp is secure.

Verify that the hardware and external fittings are secure.
