3. Typical module applications
The extended functionality of GSM module enables it to be used for a variety of applications.
This section presents typical examples of its application. Some of them are capable of being
combined with one other.
3.1 Backup communication path

When connected to the telephone line output (T-1 and R-1 terminals, and in the GSM-4 –
also a suitable socket), the devices are capable of making telephone calls via analog
telephone line or GSM network. You can select which communication path will be the primary
one. If the primary communication path is malfunctioning, the module can automatically
switch over to the backup one.
