3.1.3 Control System
The control system of
SINUS MV
Standard MV VFD is composed of controller, I/O interface board and HMI.The
controller is composed of three optic fiber boards, one signal board, one main control board, and one power
supply board and one busbar mother board. Please see Figure 3-9 the controller.

Optic fiber board sends data signal to power cell through optic fiber, each optic fiber board controls the cells
which belong to one phase, and periodically sends PWM signal or working mode command to power cell.
Power cell receives contact order and status signal by optic fiber, and sends fault code signal to the optic fiber
board when fault occurs.

Signal board collects input/output voltage and current signals of VFD, and by isolating, filtering and AD
converting, those analog signals are transferred to main control board for control and protection of VFD, and for
data collection of main control board.

The main control board adopts digital signal processor (DSP) to implement all the functions of motor control
through three phase voltage PWM instructions generated by space vector mode. Exchange data with I/O board
through RS485, provide status parameters of VFD and receive parameter setting from the I/O board.

Power board is powered by DC24V, used to supply
+
5V, ±15V power to control board and signal board
respectively.

I/O interface board used for logical processes of the internal switch signals of VFD and operating signals and
status signals of the application field, see Figure 3-10. I/O interface board has the capability of processing three
analoginputs and four analog outputs. Analoginputs are used to process the analog signals such as flow signals
and pressure signals from the site or the setting signals when AI setting; the analog outputs include system status
signals such as running frequency and output current, etc.
