Protecting Music Files
You can protect saved important music files from accidental erasure.
1. Set the Mode Dial to
Music
mode.
2. Press the [POWER] button to turn on the device.
3. Press the [MENU] button.

Menu screen appears.
4. Move the joystick left / right (

) to select <Protect>.
5. Select an option by moving the joystick up / down (

: The Playlist appears and you can select files to protect.

: All files will be protected.
If <All> is selected, the message “Protect All?” appears. Select <Yes> or <No> by
moving the joystick left / right (

You can easily access this function by using the shortcut button (refer to page 115).

When you attempt to delete a protected file, you will hear a warning beep.
When you set the Beep Sound to Off, there will be no beep sound but the message “Protect!”
appears on the screen and the file will not be deleted.
