11.5 Controller Configuration
There are three methods of configuring the router control module and an example of each is
described in the following sections.
1. Select the inactive controller and click on the Edit Controller Config... button. The
Controller Configuration window is displayed, see Fig 47.
The Controller Configuration screen is displayed with the Devices tab open. The Tabs on this
screen are shown below, see the Workbench User manual for full details:
• Devices - Nucleus router control modules have default devices already selected.
• Routers - Basic configuration of the router, see section 11.5.1 for an example.
• Local Router Hardware - Additional configuration required when configuring a
Nucleus2 2463 router control module.
• Generic - The Generic Editor (see section 11.5.2) and Generic Online Editor (see
section 11.5.3) tools are accessed from this tab. They allow advanced configuration
changes to be made using a logical tree structure format.
Note:
• If the router contains two router control modules the inactive controller should be
configured first and once that process is complete the other controller is made
inactive and the configuration changes can be copied to it.
• On a dual redundant controller system the router controllers can be configured
while the router is on-air, if required.
• If the router only has a single controller then this can be configured while the router
is on-air but all communication with the router controller will be lost during the
database push of the configuration changes and subsequent reset. Because of this
the crosspoints cannot be switched and tallies are not reported during this process.
Video and audio processing is unaffected.
