10. Testing the Sirius 830
This chapter describes how to test the router to ensure that it can route signals. You will need
at least one video source and a video analyzer to check that the video signal is being passed
correctly.
10.1 Alarms Displayed on the Router Door PC
The Alarms block on the right side of the main menu screen displays the status of the fans,
the power supply shelves and the redundant crosspoint. Live Runner should run
automatically and display a screen similar to Fig 27.
• If a different Live Runner screen is displayed touch the Menu button in the bottom
left corner of the screen to display the main menu screen.
• If Live Runner is not running double tap the Live Runner shortcut on the
Microsoft Windows screen to start it up.
4. Touch the Alarms button on the main menu screen to view the Alarms screen. The
alarms screen displays the router status in more detail (see Fig 28.)
• In the Power Supplies area of the screen, when a PSU shelf is Red, it does not
necessarily mean that the power supply units are faulty. It may just mean that the
PSUs or the alarm cable are not fitted.
• The References Locked block displays the status of the four video reference inputs
and one AES reference that come in on the control rear panel (see Fig 13. on page
26) video reference connectors.
