The linear encoder has been mounted to the machine frame 
by means of a fixed connection on the left-hand and right-
hand side of the top beam.  

The parallelism of top- and lower- tool adaptation must be 
adjusted in the machine constants of the press brake control. 

 

Above-mentioned correction may affect the bending 
programs as the position of the upper beam has been 
changed. 

The correction on the right-hand side of the upper beam will 

prove to be slight, whereas the correction on the left-hand 
side will prove greatest.  

9.3.7.

 

UPPER BEAM IN TILTED POSITION 

Certain circumstances may cause the upper beam to go down in a tilted position. 

 
This may have several causes: 

 

Excessive one-sided overloading of the top beam. 

 

Top beam electronic control failure. 

The machine drive can be restarted as follows: 
1.

 

by putting the safety selector switch (Pos 4 of § 2.3.1) to and fro on 

Service/Tilted-position the force of the upper beam springs will cause the 
upper beam to go upwards slowly. 
In this way the belt will not come loose, 

2.

 

in the mechanical top dead point the upper beam will be re-aligned again, 

3.

 

press the yellow reset button, 

4.

 

press the "drive-on" button (Pos. 1 of § 2.3.1), 

5.

 

machine is ready for production. 

9.3.8.

 

FAN FILTERS ELECTRICAL CABINET 

Filters of the electrical cabinet have to be cleaned regularly with water – not 

hotter than 40°C – or replaced. Frequency is due to circumstances. 
Filter AM 435P SafanDarley partnr.  38720000050. 

Put the filter with the rough side towards the inside of the cabinet. 

9.3.9.

 

CLEANING POSITION SENSORS 

Depending on the environment the position sensors have to be cleaned 
frequently with a cloth and Isopropanol or meths.  

1.

 

Use the press brake control to make the upper beam go to its bottom dead 
point. 

2.

 

Switch off the mains power supply by means of the main switch (Pos. 1 of 
chapter 2.5) on the electrical cabinet. 




