CHANGING TOOLS 

On a press brake with manual clamping.  
Set the mode switch to Position 0, this will prevent machine operation during the 

tool change or adjustment. To prevent operation of the machine lock the mode 
switch key and remove it to prevent machine operation while the tools are being 
changed or adjusted. Once the tooling is changed or adjusted, re-insert the key, 

unlock the mode switch then reset the mode switch to the proper type of 
operation and begin safe machine operation. 

 
On a press brake equipped with hydraulic clamping.  

To change the tooling or adjust the installed tooling position, press the 
“unclamp” button on the control for the appropriate tool set, top, bottom or 

both. This deactivates the machine operation making tool change or adjustment 
safe. Once the tool change or tool position adjustments are complete select 
“clamp” bottom for the appropriate tool set, top, bottom or both to re-enable 

safe machine operation. verbiage
