For the activities mentioned below it is necessary that the
voltage should be kept on.
Various protective covers are taken off; this may give rise to
hazardous situations for the maintenance engineer and third
parties:
Make sure that no other persons are in the immediate vicinity of the
machine.
A SafanDarley trained service engineer should perform these activities be by or
someone who has been trained to carry out this work properly.
When (re)adjusting the upper beam guides always observe the following
procedure:
1. Use the press brake control to make the press brake assume such a
position that the guiding parts that are mounted to the machine frame and
those parts that have been mounted to the upper beam are overlapping
(see figure 9-1).
2. Switch of the mains power supply by means of the main switch (Pos. 1 of
chapter 2.5)
3. Remove the side protecting guards and the upper beam protecting cover of
the press brake.
4. Check the clearance with a feeler gauge:

between the guide face on the rear side of the upper beam and the
guide face on the rear guide strip;

between the guide face on the front side of the upper beam and the
guide face on the front guide strip,
The total clearance per machine side should be between 0,05 mm and 0,10 mm.
A feeler gauge of 0,05 mm goes between one of the two guide
faces with no room to spare. A feeler gauge of 0,10 mm does
not go between one of the two guide faces.
5. If necessary adjust the guides. To do this, loosen the
front guiding bolts (Pos. 7) of the front side guiding strip (Pos 3) a little.
6. Then loosen the adjustment bolts with the lock nuts (Pos.5) a little.
7. Then turn the upper and lower adjustment bolts to such an extent that the
clearance reaches the value mentioned above. If the guiding has been
adjusted correctly the upper and lower adjustment bolts must be secured
again with the lock nuts.
8. Then the front guiding bolts (Pos.7) can be tightened again.
9. The procedure mentioned above must be carried out on both sides of the
machine.
10. Fit the side and upper beam protecting guards and start the press brake.

