9.3.4.

CHANGING UPPER TOOLS

A standard feature of the SafanDarley press brakes is that the upper beams,
intermediate beams and top tools have been fitted with the SafanDarley top tool

adaptation. The adaptation has a so-called safety key.
The safety key prevents the top tool from falling out of the tool adaptation when

it is dismounted

Figure

If the top tool has to be replaced, the clamping plates with which the top tool is

clamped to the upper beam (or intermediate beam) must be loosened a little
causing the top tool to go down a little until it rests on the safety key. Then the
top tool can be pushed out of the press brake.

Procedure

The activities mentioned below may give rise to hazardous
situations for operator and third parties: make sure that no
other persons are in the immediate vicinity of the machine.
