
3. Wear goggles or safety glasses at all times when operating this
appliance.
4. Do not wear loose-fitting clothing, or loose articles such as scarves,
strings, chains, ties, etc. They could get drawn into the air intake.
Also make sure long hair does not get drawn into the air intake.
5. Do not point the appliance in anyone’s direction or in the direction of
windows.
6. Walk, never run.
7. As a vacuum, the appliance is designed to pick up dry material such
as leaves, grass, small twigs and bits of paper. Do not attempt to
vacuum wet debris as this may result in damage to the appliance
and possible electric shock. To avoid severe damage to the impeller,
do not vacuum metal, broken glass, etc.
8. Disconnect the appliance from the main supply.
- Whenever you leave the machine.
- Before cleaning a blockage.
- Before checking, cleaning or working on the appliance.
- If the appliance starts to vibrate abnormally.
9. Do not overreach or use the unit from unstable surfaces such as
ladders, trees, steep slopes, rooftops, etc. Keep proper footing and
balance at all times.
10. Avoid situations that could set the dust bag alight. Do not operate
near an open flame. Do not vacuum warm ash from fireplaces,
barbecue pits, etc. Do not vacuum discarded cigars or cigarettes
unless the cinders are completely cool.
11. Do not put part of your body such as hands and fingers in the
vacuum opening or exhaust opening, etc.
MAINTENANCE SAFETY WARNINGS
1. Disconnect the appliance from the power supply when it is not in
use and before servicing.
2. Keep all nuts, bolts and screws tight to be sure the appliance is in
safe working condition.
3. Keep your appliance in good working condition. Only an
AUTHORIZED SERVICE CENTER or other QUALIFIED SERVICE
ORGANIZATION should perform maintenance procedures that are
not described in this manual.
4. Use only original replacement parts approved by RYOBI when
servicing this appliance. The use of non-standard parts, or other
accessories or attachments not designed for this appliance, could
result in serious injury to the user and/or damage to the appliance.
5. STORE THE APPLIANCE INDOORS - When not in use, the
appliance should be stored indoors in a dry and high place - out of
the reach of children.
Keep the appliance away from harmful substances such as solvents

APPLICATION
(Use only for the purposes listed below.)
1. Cleaning of yards, garages, shop, porches, patios, etc.
SWITCH (Fig. 1)
This appliance is equipped with an on/off switch (1). To turn the unit on,
slide the switch to forward (direction A). And to turn the unit off, slide the
switch to backward (direction B).
SPEED ADJUSTMENT (RESV-2010 only) (Fig. 1)
The air speed of this appliance can be adjusted.
Turning the speed adjustment volume (2) in the direction “C” increases
the air speed, and turning it in the direction “D” decreases the air speed.
ATTACHING AND REMOVING THE NOZZLE (Fig. 2,3)
1. Align the protruding part (7) of the nozzle with the groove (8) on the
main body of the unit and insert the nozzle (4) into the main body of
the unit.
2. Fix it in place with the hex. nut (6), hex. bolt (5) and knob (3).
3. To remove the nozzle, first loosen the knob and remove the hex.
nut. Then remove the nozzle.
WARNING!
Do not connect the power supply before attaching the nozzle.
ADJUSTING THE NOZZLE LENGTH (Fig. 4)
It is possible to adjust the nozzle length by first loosening the knob (3)
and then sliding the nozzle (4) forwards or backwards. When the nozzle
is at a length that is easy to use, fix it in place by tightening the knob.
CAUTION!
Always ensure the nozzle is securely fixed by tightening the knob when
using the unit.
ATTACHING AND ADJUSTING THE ROLLER (Fig. 5)
Attach the roller (9) to the tip of the nozzle using the wing bolt (10) and
washer (11).
Move the roller forwards or backwards so that it is in an easy-to-use
position and fix it in place with the wing bolt.
ATTACHING THE AUX. HANDLE AND ADJUSTING
ITS ANGLE (Fig. 6)
1. Position the aux. handle (12) so that the side with the narrow groove
(13) faces the front, open it with both hands and set it onto the main
body of the unit.
2. Attach the aux. handle to the main body of the unit by lightly
tightening the knob (3) and the hex. bolt (14).
3. Position the aux. handle at an easy-to-use angle and fix it in position
by securely tightening the knob.
ATTACHING AND REMOVING THE DUST BAG
(Fig. 7,8,9)
CAUTION!
Do not use the appliance in the vacuum mode without the dust bag (15)
in place.
1. Attach the dust bag holder (16) to the dust exhaust opening (17) of
the motor housing. (Fig. 7)
Attach the dust bag holder so that the projection (18) of the motor
housing will enter the front part of the dust bag holder. (Fig. 7)
2. Pull up the handle (19) of dust bag, until the hook-A (20) catch the
housing.
3. Attach the hook-B (21) to the hooked part (22) of the lower part of
the nozzle.
4. When removing the dust bag, detach the hook-B from nozzle, press
the hook-A and pull the handle of the dust bag holder off the motor
housing. (Fig. 8)
SHOULDER STRAP (Fig. 10, 11)
1. Attach the metal fixture (24) of the shoulder strap (23) to the hole of
the upper part of the handle (25).
2. The length of the shoulder strap is adjustable, so adjust it to a
convenient length.
