RN.362.IR
The RN.362.IR is a so called Inline Repeater and extends the CA T.5 length between two RN. 300 de-
vices to another 150m (500ft). The RN.362 is remotely powered via power the CA T. 5 cable. No addi-
tional power supply is required.
To use the RN. 362. IR it is required to equip the 19” RN.300 devices with the optional RN.300.RP re-
mote power extension. The RN.300. RP option needs to be ordered at your dealer/distributor, who can
also upgrade your existing RN.300 devices. The green LEDs between the Ethercon Link connectors
(link input and link output separately) indicate the existence of build in remote power option.
It is not possible to us e the RN.300.RP with RN.341.MY interface cards because this card cannot
supply the required power for the use of the RN.362. IR. This means that a RN.362.IR cannot be used
between two Y amaha host products equipped with RN.341.MY interface cards that are directly con-
nected via CA T.5.
In order to obtain power redundancy the 19” RN.300 devices at both ends of the repeater section can
be equipped with t he remote power option RN.300.RP. In cas e one of the remote power options in
one of the 19” devices would fail the RN.362.IR would still be powered from the other end.
It is also possible to use two RN.362.IR bet ween two RN.300 19” devic es to obtain a maximum dis-
tance of 450m (1,500ft ) on CA T.5 cable. In this case both 19” RockNet devic es need to be equipped
with the RN.300RP option. Each RN.300 device would then power one RN.362.IR from eac h end. In
this case power redundancy is not possible.
