Chapter 2 Installation and Configuration

Connecting Cables

Quantum SuperLoader 3 User’s Guide

Figure 4 Cable Connectors
(Fibre Channel Tape Drive)

Attach the other end of the Fibre Channel cable to the Fibre Channel

host.

Attach one end of your Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port on the

back panel of the autoloader for remote management.

Attach the other end of the Ethernet cable to your host network port

or router.

Attach the female connector of the power cable to the power

connector on the back panel of the autoloader (see

figure2

Plug in the power cable to the nearest properly grounded power

outlet.

Turn on the autoloader by setting the power switch on the back

panel to the

position. Turn on any other devices you turned off

earlier. Check the LCD screen to make sure the autoloader is

receiving power. If it is not, check the power connections and your

power source.
