If the laser is on and centered, ROTALIGN will automatically switch
to the screen shown below. Otherwise, press the START softkey
which will appear in the lower-left corner of the screen.
Horizontal machine alignment - move
Important:
If, approximately 10 seconds
after entering "Soft Foot" mode,
the ROTALIGN fails to establish
contact with the sensor, a "SEN-
SOR ???" message is displayed on
the screen. This message is also
displayed if the receiver cable is
disconnected while ROTALIGN is
in "Measure" either "Move"
modes. Check that both ends of
the cable are properly connected.
9. MOVE
Thanks to its five-axis sensor design, ROTALIGN lets you monitor
alignment corrections on screen as they are being made.
If the machine suffers from excessive soft foot, the MOVE function
may be hampered by the fact that the machine changes its position on
its own every time the anchor bolts are loosened and tightened.
Therefore, please use the soft foot function as directed on page 4-29
and correct the situation before beginning an alignment.
In the Results screen (see previous pages), press the softkey marked
MOVE. An intermediate screen, shown below, appears briefly while
the ROTALIGN restarts the sensor.

MOVE
In this MOVE screen, both horizontal and vertical corrections can be
made simultaneously. In most cases, vertical alignment should be
performed first by shimming the feet of the machine to be aligned.
Horizontal alignment should be the final step before the machine
foot bolts are tightened firmly. Otherwise, inadvertent horizontal
movement could occur and go unnoticed during vertical shimming.
