Troubleshooting guide

Troubleshooting guide

Here is a list of possible problems encountered with ROTALIGN. See
also the Error messages on page 6-13.

Computer will not switch on:

Replace Main batteries (page 2-10) or connect charger (page 2-8). If
this doesn't help, replace the Auxiliary battery (page 2-11) as well. If
there is still no response and you are quite certain that the
replacement batteries are new, contact your local PRÜFTECHNIK
distributor.

Computer lockup:

1) Normally, press the ON/OFF, C

LR

and E

NTER

keys all at once.

2) If the message "Not ready reading drive A:..Abort, Retry, Fail"

appears, then press ON/OFF for 15 seconds and release to switch
off.

3) If the computer locks up each time its switched on then you will

have to clear the memory. Proceed as follows:

a) Reset the computer: press ON/OFF, C

LR

and E

NTER

all at

once.

b) During rebooting, press and hold the C

LR

key until the

computer ID (the letters "ID" followed by the 8-digit CPU
number) appears on the screen, then release the key.

c) From the three-item menu select DEVICETEST by pressing

"2."

d) From the eight-item menu select MRAM by pressing "1."
e) From the eight-item menu select INIT ALL by pressing "3."
f) Press C

LR

to clear all stored measurements, setups and

results. (Press ON/OFF to back up one level.)

g) Switch the ROTALIGN off and on again with the ON/OFF

button, then reconfigure.

Screen goes blank:

In sleep mode: press any key to reawaken (page 2-12)
OR auto-shut off: switch on again and press RESUME.

Screen is solid black or clear:

Switch on the computer and wait 2 minutes for it to finish "booting
up." Then adjust screen contrast by pressing and holding the 0 or 1
key: contrast will loop from dark to light and back again while you
hold down the key. Release the key when the desired screen contrast
setting is reached.

You may press ON/OFF to escape
backwards one menu level from
any of the menus in steps C
through F:
