The ROTALIGN computer

Computer program operation

The ROTALIGN computer program is intended to be easy to use, even
for a computer novice. Feel free to experiment with the keys and
options as no physical harm can come to the computer. All the
screens (except the first) have a status line at the top giving simple
instructions. Options are selected with the "Softkeys" along the top of
the keypad.

Working your way through the program

The ROTALIGN software is comprised essentially of three sections
corresponding to the three large yellow keys:

Dimensions Measure

Results

These keys are very important during program operation to switch
between the sections, and are frequently used. After entering
dimensions press the "Measure" key to proceed to measurement;
after measurement press the "Results" key to see the results.

Since these keys override all other functions they may be used at any
time to switch between the sections (e.g. to quickly change a
dimension from the Results screen), even from several menu levels
within a function.

Also important is the M

ENU

key,

(described on page 3-3

and 4-6) which similarly exits from any point in the program.

Resetting the ROTALIGN computer

The ROTALIGN computer, like all computers, can "lock up" when a
mathematical error occurs. Should this occur and normal operation
come to a halt, reset the computer by pressing the ON/OFF, CLR and
ENTER keys at the same time:

If this has no effect, or the computer locks up when switching on,
consult the troubleshooting guide on page 6-11.

Upgrading ROTALIGN software

Upgrades of the ROTALIGN 2.0x computer program may become
available in the future. The ROTALIGN Upgrade Manager 2.0x
software program for Windows, available from PRÜFTECHNIK AG as
part of the ROTALIGN Upgrade package (ALI 3.471), is used to load
the newest version of the ROTALIGN software onto a ROTALIGN
unit via the serial port and cable connected to a standard PC. Contact
PRÜFTECHNIK or your local distributor for information on the
Upgrade Manager.
