Changing the display mode
If no o p e r ation is p e r fo r med fo r one minute, the
f r ont p anel dis p lay and button illumination
automatically tu r ns off. The dis p lay will tu r n on
again automatically if a command is in p ut o r
movement is detected by the motion senso r .
To make the dis p lay r emain on constantly, set
the dis p lay mode to
Display On
.
1 Select ‘Display Mode’ from the
System Setup menu, then press ENTER.
2 Adjust the setting, then press
ENTER to confirm the settings and exit.
• Auto Display – Tu r ns off automatically if
no o p e r ation is p e r fo r med fo r one minute.
•
Display On
– Dis p lays constantly.
Even when set to not dis p lay, the dis p lay is
tem p o r a r ily shown when you ca rr y out a
cont r ol function.
• The motion senso r detects movement in
the left/ r ight and u p /down di r ections
within a distance of 2.5 m and an angle of
40º (20º only in the u
pp e r di r ection).
Walking towa r ds the unit will r educe the
sensing r ange to 0.7 m.
Key lock setting
1 Select ‘Key Lock’ from the System
Setup menu, then press ENTER.
2 Adjust the setting, then press
ENTER to confirm the settings and exit.
• Lock On – Makes the f r ont p anel buttons
and cont r ols ino p e r ative.
• Lock Off – Resto r es r egula r use of the f r ont
p anel buttons and cont r ols.
TV system setting
The default setting of this system is Auto , and
unless you notice that the p ictu r e is disto r ted
when p laying some discs, you should leave it
set to
Auto
. If you find p ictu r e disto r tion with
some discs, set the TV system to match you r
count r y o r r egion’s system. Howeve r , this may
r est r ict the kinds of disc you can watch. See
the table fo r the kinds of discs com p atible with
each setting (
Auto
,
PAL
and
NTSC
).

System Setup menu, then press ENTER.

mode, then tu r n ON once again. You will see
the new TV system setting in the dis p lay afte r
seeing Power On .

1 Most models of the newly develo p ed countdown PAL TV system detect 50 Hz (PAL)/60 Hz (NTSC) and automatically switch
ve r tical am p litude, r esulting in a dis p lay without ve r tical sh r inkage. Howeve r , in some cases, the image may a pp ea r without
colo r . If you r PAL TV does not have a V-Hold cont r ol, you may not be able to watch NTSC discs because of p ictu r e r oll. If the TV
has a V-Hold cont r ol, adjust it until the p ictu r e sto p s r olling. On some TVs, the p ictu r e may sh r ink ve r tically, leaving black bands
at the to p and bottom of the sc r een.
