Setting the Auto Delay
This featu r e automatically co rr ects the audio-
to-video delay between com p onents connected
with an HDMI cable. The audio delay time is set
de
p ending on the o p e r ational status of the
dis p lay connected with an HDMI cable. The
audio delay time is automatically adjusted
acco
r ding to the video delay time.
1 Press SETUP.
2 Select ‘HDMI Setup’ then press
ENTER.
3 Select ‘Auto Delay’, then press
ENTER.
4 Select ‘A.Delay On’ or ‘A.Delay
Off’ then press ENTER to confirm.
Tip
• This featu r e is only available when the
connected dis p lay su pp o r ts the automatic
audio/video synch r onizing ca p ability (‘li p -
sync’) fo r HDMI o r HDMI Cont r ol. If you
find the automatically set delay time
unsuitable, set
A.Delay
to
Off
and adjust
the sound delay settings manually
(
p age 31).
Resetting the HDMI connection
If the sc r een goes blank (fo r exam p le, afte r
changing the r esolution), check the
t r oubleshooting guide on ( p age 82). If this
doesn’t solve the pr oblem, follow the ste p s
below to r eset the HDMI connection.
1 Press SETUP.
2 Select ‘Initialize’ then press
ENTER.
3 Select ‘HDMI Init’ then press
ENTER.

4 Press ENTER to confirm initialization.
The system will r esta r t and the HDMI settings
a r e automatically r eset to the facto r y defaults.

About HDMI
HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Inte r face)
su pp o r ts both video and audio on a single
digital connection fo r use with DVD p laye r s,
DTV, set-to p boxes, and othe r AV devices.
HDMI was develo p ed to pr ovide the
technologies of High-bandwidth Digital
Content P
r otection (HDCP) as well as Digital
Visual Inte r face (DVI) in one s p ecification.
HDCP is used to pr otect digital content
t r ansmitted and r eceived by DVI-com p liant
dis p lays.
HDMI has the ca p ability to su pp o r t standa r d,
enhanced, o r high-definition video p lus stan-
da r d to multichannel su rr ound-sound audio.
HDMI featu r es include uncom pr essed digital
video, a bandwidth of u p to 2.2 gigabytes p e r
second (with HDTV signals), one connecto r
(instead of seve r al cables and connecto r s), and
communication between the AV sou r ce and
AV devices such as DTVs.
