About the Remote Setup menu
The Remote Setu p mode is set by pr essing the HOME
MENU button while pr essing MULTI OPERATION . The
diffe r ent items on the Remote Setu p menu a r e desc r ibed
below. Fo r thei r setting pr ocedu r es, r efe r to the
ex p lanations fo r the r es p ective items.
Note
• You can cancel o r exit any of the ste p s by pr ess and
hold MULTI OPERATION fo r a cou p le of seconds. To
go back a ste p , pr ess RETURN .
• Afte r one minute of inactivity, the r emote
automatically exits the o p e r ation.
Setting What it does
PRESET
RECALL P r eset codes can be set fo r the va r ious in p ut
functions. The r emote cont r ol codes of a numbe r
of othe r devices (including pr oducts of othe r
b r ands) a r e pr eset in the r emote cont r ol to allow
these devices to be o p e r ated. See “Selecting
pr eset codes di r ectly” on p age 84.
CODE
LEARNING If the desi r ed o p e r ations cannot be p e r fo r med
even though you have set the pr eset codes, the
r emote cont r ol signals of othe r devices can be
lea r ned di r ectly. See “P r og r amming signals f r om
othe r r emote cont r ols” on p age 85.
MULTI
OPERATE A se r ies of the r emote cont r ol o p e r ations fo r
sta r ting listening o r viewing can be pr og r ammed.

SYSTEM
OFF This is a function fo r automatically tu r ning off the
p owe r of devices connected to the r eceive r .

DIRECT
FUNC This is a setting fo r changing only the r emote
cont r ol unit’s o p e r ation sc r een, without changing
the r eceive r ’s in p ut, when the r emote cont r ol
unit’s in p ut function buttons a r e pr essed. This is
convenient fo r using the r emote cont r ol unit fo r
devices not connected to the r eceive r . See “Di r ect
function” on p age 86.
RENAME The names of the in p ut function buttons dis p layed
on the r emote cont r ol unit can be changed as
desi r ed. See “Renaming in p ut function names
manually” on p age 86.
SYNC
RENAMING
In p ut function names changed on the r eceive r can
be acqui r ed by the r emote cont r ol unit so that the
names a r e the same on the r emote cont r ol unit.

ERASE
LEARNING
This function is used to e r ase r emote cont r ol
codes that have been lea r ned. Codes lea r ned fo r
the diffe r ent in p ut functions can be e r ased

IR/RF
SELECT
This function is fo r selecting wi r eless (RF) o r
inf r a r ed (IR) as the r emote cont r ol o p e r ating mode
fo r the diffe r ent devices. See

OPERATION
MODE
The r emote cont r ol unit’s o p e r ation sc r een
switches automatically when the r eceive r ’s in p ut
is switched (This is only valid when the o p e r ation
selecto r switch is set to SOURCE ). See “Setting the
r emote cont r ol o p e r ation mode” on p age 94.
KEY RESET
This is a function fo r r esetting pr eset codes that
have been set. Key r esetting can be done fo r
individual in p ut functions. See “Resetting the
in p ut assignment of one of the in p ut function
buttons” on p age 86.
ALL RESET
This is a function fo r r esetting all r emote cont r ol
unit settings you have made to the defaults set

p on shi p ment f r om the facto r y. See “Resetting

READ
PRESET ID The pr eset codes set fo r the diffe r ent in p ut
functions can be checked. See “Confi r ming pr eset

CHANGE
RC MODE If you have multi p le Pionee r r eceive r s, am p lifie r s,
etc., this setting can be used to pr event othe r units
f r om o p e r ating simultaneously when the r emote
cont r ol unit is o p e r ated. See “O p e r ating multi p le
r eceive r s” on p age 84.
EXIT
SETUP Exits the setu p menu.
